Compress a video to send by email

Email services refuse large attachments. Shrink your video to about 15 MB and it should attach directly in Gmail and Outlook, without a download link.

  • Never uploaded
  • No size limit
  • No watermark
  • Free

How it works

  1. Drop your videoMP4, MOV, WEBM or MKV, any size. It stays on your computer.
  2. Choose how"Smaller, same look" for a big saving without visible loss, or an exact size such as 10 MB. You see the result before you start.
  3. DownloadPreview the result, then save it. Exact sizes are checked before you download.

Attachment limits

Gmail allows 25 MB of attachments per email and Outlook 20 MB, but an attachment grows by about a third when the email is sent, and Outlook counts the grown size. So a 20 MB video does not attach to Outlook; about 14 MB does. To be safe with both, the default here is 15 MB (18 MB is usually fine for Gmail). Work mail servers can be stricter, often 10 MB. The tool checks the file against the size you pick and tells you if it could not get under it.

What fits in 15 MB: a one-minute clip comes out at about 650p, a three-minute clip at about 360p, and a ten-minute clip at about 170p, which is very small. Shorter is sharper.

Private by design

Videos sent by email are often personal or for work. This tool never uploads your video; it is compressed inside your browser. The only place it goes is the email you send.

Why your video never leaves your computer

Online video tools upload your file to their servers, process it there, and send it back. That is slow for big videos and costs them money for every minute, so free plans cap your file size or add watermarks, and your video sits on someone else's computer.

Here your own computer does the work, inside this tab. Nothing is uploaded, so there is nothing to cap: no file size limit, no daily limit and no watermark.

Questions

My video is still too big for 15 MB at a good quality. What now?

Trim it to the part that matters with the trimmer, or share a cloud link instead.

Is it really free?

Yes. Your computer does the work, so a video costs us nothing to process. No account, no watermark, no limits.

Is my video uploaded?

No. It is processed inside this browser tab and saved straight back to your computer.

Which browsers work?

Recent Chrome, Edge and Safari on a computer. Chrome and Edge are fastest on most machines. Phones work for short videos.

How long does it take?

In Chrome, a one-minute 1080p video took 13–19 seconds on the laptops we tested and about 40 seconds on a computer without a graphics chip. Safari can be slower.

Can I close the tab while it works?

Keep the tab open and in front until it finishes. Browsers slow down background tabs.
